KENYA – The Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) has announced the resignation of its Chief Executive Officer, Anthony Mwangi, after serving for two years.

In a notice from KAM’s Board Chairperson, Jane Karuku, the Association expressed its gratitude for Mwangi’s dedicated leadership and significant contributions to the organization and the manufacturing sector during his tenure.

Karuku stated, “On behalf of the Kenya Association of Manufacturers Board of Directors, I would like to announce that Anthony Mwangi, who served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the last two years, has stepped down.”

She highlighted Mwangi’s instrumental role in advancing KAM’s advocacy initiatives, particularly in support of the Manufacturing 20by30 strategy.

Following Mwangi’s departure, KAM has appointed its Chief Operating Officer, Tobias Alando, as the Acting CEO effective immediately.

The Board expressed confidence in Alando’s ability to lead the Association through this transition period and build on the solid foundation established by Mwangi.

“We are confident that under Mr. Alando’s interim leadership, KAM will continue to build on the strong foundation laid by Mr. Mwangi. During this period of transition, we ask for the continued support of all our members, partners, and stakeholders as we work towards a seamless leadership change,” the notice read.

KAM remains dedicated to its strategic objectives and to creating prosperity through sustainable industrialization.

Since its inception in 1959, the Association has been pivotal in shaping industrial policies and supporting the country’s economic development.
