UK – Froneri-owned ice cream brand Kelly’s of Cornwall has launched a new sticky gingerbread flavour ice cream in the UK ahead of Christmas, which has toffee sauce, fudge pieces and ginger digestive biscuit pieces.
According to FoodBev, the ice cream is made in the English country of Cornwall with whole milk and clotted cream for over 120 years, Kelly’s ice cream is said to have “a distinctive creamy taste and velvety smooth texture”.
“We know consumers are looking for something special at Christmas so we have taken the iconic flavour of gingerbread and teamed it with our classic Cornish ice cream, creating an easy, indulgent dessert option,” said Kelly’s of Cornwall brand manager Shreen Nobbel.
“Our new sticky gingerbread ice cream is the perfect sweet finish to any meal, either alone as a tasty festive dessert, or paired with a warming winter dessert such as apple crumble or Christmas pudding.”
Sticky gingerbread, which is available with a recommended retail price of £3.99, joins Kelly’s seven-strong line of flavours in its take-home parlour range, including: butterscotch pecan, rhubarb crumble, honeycomb crunch, berry Eton mess, chocolate brownie salted caramel, salted caramel, and clotted cream.
Earlier this year Kelly’s carried out an advertising campaign spoken in the Cornish language which aimed to celebrate the brand’s provenance, spoken entirely in the Cornish language.
The advert features three groups of ice cream-obsessed people as they sit outside their colourful beach huts to tell viewers in Cornish why they love their favourite flavours so much.
Charlotte Hambling, head of UK marketing at Froneri, said: “Our insights tell us that staying true to our Cornish heritage and celebrating our dairy ice cream plays an integral role in the purchase decision for our consumer.
