KENYA – Tropikal Brands Afrika Limited, one of Kenya’s fast growing consumer goods manufacturer, has launched an immune-boosting energy drink dubbed Super-C.

According to the company, the energy & immune booster is packed with antioxidants aimed to ensure consumers get a healthy dose of Vitamin – C.

Coming in a 100ml bottle, Super C is widely available in all pharmacies and retail outlets in country.

“With the goal of ensuring our consumers live a healthy lifestyle, our consumer healthcare division lead by Marley Gitau and assisted by bonnie K. Damaris Kihianyu and Edgar Gina Ochieng, MBA launched the newest “C” in town,” stated the company.

The launch is timely as there has been an increase in demand for immunity-boosting functional foods and beverages across the globe following the outbreak of the Coronavirus disease.

A recent study conducted by Irish Food and Ingredients company Kerry revealed that this trend will continue in the future beyond COVID-19.

According to the research, 65 percent of functional beverage consumers are more worried about their health since the start of the pandemic.

Furthermore, when asked about the health concerns that have become more important since the emergence of COVID-19, 59 percent of respondents in the Kerry research cited immunity, while 50 percent said mental health is now a priority.

Zambia’s leading consumer goods manufacturer Trade Kings, has followed the trend as its subsidiary Bigtree Beverages Limited recently introduced Lifeway C-Shot 500.

The latest addition is fortified with vitamins B, C & Wellmune, a proven way to boost your immune system and maintain a healthy body.

Tropikal Brands Afrika commenced the year with a bang as they have launched a couple of new products in the Kenyan market, expanding its portfolio.

In March, the manufacturer debuted new potato chips dubbed Partee Chips and Maya Isotonic Water coming in lemon and orange flavours.

This was after the company launched Nutripro Cornflakes, a nutritious breakfast cereal and Fruit Paradise, a nectar-based natural fruit juice that has no preservatives.
