GLOBAL – Kerry, a global leader in taste and nutrition, has announced its 2025 Taste Trends, offering a forward-looking perspective on the future of food and beverage innovation.  

Developed by Kerry’s taste experts and validated through its global insights team, the report delves into the evolving preferences of consumers, highlighting the “why” and “how” behind emerging flavors. 

The 2025 Taste Trends aim to equip Kerry’s customers with the insights needed to create innovative solutions that align with consumer demands.  

A central theme of this year’s report is balancing fun with functionality, ensuring products not only taste great but also deliver tangible health benefits, maximizing the value of fewer ingredients. 

The report emphasizes a convergence of technology, creativity, and culinary arts that will redefine food and beverage experiences in 2025.  

Six key trends were highlighted: 

  1. Imagination Infused: This trend combines digital advancements, societal shifts, and artificial intelligence to inspire groundbreaking product innovations, blending creativity with data-driven insights. 
  2. Roots Redefined: It focuses on reimagining traditional cuisines, blending time-honored culinary techniques with modern creativity to make classic flavors more accessible and appealing. 
  3. Little Luxuries: In an era of increased cost-awareness, this trend highlights the importance of small, everyday indulgences that bring sophistication and moments of joy to daily life. 
  4. Fun with Functional: Reflecting growing consumer demand for health-forward foods, this trend incorporates fun, novel flavors into products with functional benefits, making wellness more engaging. 
  5. Clean & Simple: A celebration of natural ingredients, this trend emphasizes their intrinsic benefits and employs innovative cooking methods to enhance flavor and nutrition. 
  6. Chain Reaction: Addressing global supply challenges, this trend encourages the creative use of alternative ingredients and resource efficiency to turn limitations into opportunities.

The trends serve as a precursor to the 2025 Taste Charts, set to launch in January. 

These charts will feature an extended list of flavors across 13 regional markets, categorized into mainstream, key, and emerging segments, enabling product developers to craft locally resonant flavors and drive innovation in global food and beverage markets. 

Kerry’s report underscores its commitment to empowering the industry with insights that fuel innovation and align with dynamic consumer preferences worldwide.
