UK – Heinz has joined forces with London-based chicken shop chain Morley’s to introduce its latest offering, Heinz x Morley’s Fried Chicken Sauce.
This sauce, available at major UK retailers, is priced at £3.39 (US$ 4.25).
The sauce has a blend of sweet and spicy flavors, including tomatoes, paprika, onions, and a subtle hint of chili.
According to a Heinz statement, the sauce is crafted to complement fried chicken and is also versatile enough to accompany a variety of dishes, such as spiced grilled lamb, halloumi, and rice.
Thiago Rapp, head of sauces at Heinz, hailed the Heinz x Morley’s Fried Chicken Sauce as a flavor sensation, describing it as sweet and spicy, engineered to elevate any meal.
With fried chicken being a staple dish in British cuisine, Rapp emphasized the rationale behind amalgamating Heinz’s expertise in crafting beloved sauces with Morley’s cult following.
“We’ve concocted a sauce that enhances the flavor profile of any dish, whether you’re a fried chicken enthusiast or simply appreciate good food. This sauce is a game-changer,” he remarked.
The sauce had earlier been introduced in select Morley’s London chicken shops, where it garnered an unexpectedly enthusiastic response.
Shan Selvendran, co-owner of Morley’s, expressed his astonishment, stating, “Seeing the reception to our sauce last summer was truly remarkable. We knew we had fans, but the sauces disappearing and people contacting to inquire about purchasing it was unexpected!”
“We’re thrilled to collaborate with Heinz and fulfill the desires of our loyal customers. It’s a dream come true to witness our family business’ name on supermarket shelves nationwide!” he added.
This collaboration marks the latest in a series of innovative ventures by Heinz from Kraft Heinz – recent endeavors include a partnership with Mattel for a new vegan ‘Barbiecue’ mayonnaise earlier this month, and the unveiling of a limited-edition pasta sauce, The Godfather, developed in collaboration with film production company Paramount in February.
