Kraft Heinz launches new Ketchup: Heinz tomato chip dip

The Heinz Tomato Chip Dip is a combination that hasn’t been as popular as ketchup with fries and it is designed for potato chips.

USA – The Kraft Heinz Company has launched the new HEINZ Chip Dip, which will serve as a test-and-learn as the brand considers adding the jar offering to its permanent portfolio.

The company has introduced the Heinz Tomato Chip Dip to help consumers pair potato chips with ketchup, a combination that hasn’t been as popular as ketchup with fries.

The launch aims to highlight the versatility of Heinz Ketchup and provide a new, fun way for fans to enjoy it.

This limited-edition product includes a wide-mouthed jar for easy dipping, a ketchup bottle, and a bag of potato chips, making it convenient for users to “pop, dip, and enjoy.”

Keenan White, Senior Brand Communications Manager for HEINZ, said, “Fries and ketchup have always been a beloved combination, but for some reason, the potato chip has long been overlooked.

“It truly makes no sense…as fried potatoes of any kind, they’re both equally deserving of being dipped in HEINZ Ketchup! Chip Dip is all about embracing fans’ irrational love for ketchup and giving them a new way to enjoy it.”

New line of condiments

Recently, the company also announced the launch of a new line of condiments, Flavour Tour. The sauces are inspired by flavours from around the world, including Mexican-inspired street corn, Korean-inspired sweet and tangy BBQ and Thai-inspired sweet chilli.

The Mexican-inspired street corn combines chipotle, lime and corn to create a creamy, smoky flavour.

The Korean-inspired sweet and tangy BBQ offers a rich, bold punch, blending gochujang, doenjang and soy sauce for a kick.

Meanwhile, the Thai-inspired sweet chili sauce, with its balance of spiciness and sweetness, combines ginger, sriracha, and sesame oil to deliver a tangy taste.

Angie Madigan, VP of taste elevation marketing at the Kraft Heinz Company, said: “Americans are hungry for condiments that offer globally inspired flavour and versatility at an accessible price point and we saw an opportunity for Heinz to inspire new ways for people to enjoy their favourite foods.”

Absolut, Kraft Heinz relaunch Tomato Vodka Pasta Sauce

Meanwhile, the popular alcoholic brand Absolut and Kraft Heinz responded to calls from customers through social media to relaunch the Tomato Vodka Pasta Sauce.

Despite only launching in the UK, global response on social media proved overwhelming, with consumers and enthusiasts expressing desperation in accessing the once limited-edition pasta sauce.

The sauce retails at £2.50 (US$3.20) for a 350-gram jar and was available exclusively at Waitrose until Autumn 2024.

The two brands initially launched the collaborative pasta sauce in March 2023 in the UK. The sauce became popular in social media circles and sold out in just four days. Production, distribution, and sale of the sauce ceased after it was sold out.
