UK – Lipton Hard Iced Tea has expanded its product lineup with the introduction of a new flavor, Citrus Green Tea.

This latest offering, which mirrors the popular ready-to-drink (RTD) Citrus Green Tea flavor, is crafted with a triple-filtered malt base and brewed green tea, boasting a 5% ABV.

The new flavor is designed to provide a smooth, refreshing experience, and is said to be free from carbonation.

Citrus Green Tea will join Lipton Hard Iced Tea’s existing flavors, including Lemon, Peach, Half & Half, and Strawberry.

The addition of Citrus Green Tea aligns with the brand’s strategy to offer a broader variety of options to consumers.

Lisa Texido, brand director at Lipton Hard Iced Tea, commented, “With a little over a year under our belts, Lipton Hard Iced Tea sales numbers continue to exceed projections. We wanted to deliver even more variety to consumers and knew that a Citrus Green Tea flavor made sense since it’s already Lipton’s top-selling flavor.”

The hard tea segment has been growing in popularity, providing an alternative to traditional alcoholic beverages.

According to Skyquestt, the global hard tea market was valued at US$2.91 billion in 2022 and is expected to surge to US$21.68 billion by 2031, with a CAGR of 25 percent from 2024 to 2031.

The launch comes as Browns Investments’ completed the acquisition of Lipton Teas and Infusions estates in Kenya.

The acquisition also includes a 51.99 minority stake in Limuru Tea Plc and full ownership of Lipton Teas and Infusions Rwanda Limited, executed through Browns Investments’ wholly owned subsidiary, B Commodities ME FZE, based in the United Arab Emirates.

The acquisition includes 11 plantations and eight factories across Kericho, Bomet, and Kiambu counties.
