Lipton Teas and Infusions appoints Pierre Laubies as CEO

Pierre Laubies takes the helm at Lipton Teas and Infusions, bringing extensive leadership experience as the company advances sustainability initiatives.

UK – Lipton Teas and Infusions, one of the world’s largest tea businesses, has announced the permanent appointment of Pierre Laubies as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Laubies, who has served as interim CEO for the past six months, previously held the position of chairman of the company’s supervisory board since 2022.

His appointment follows the departure of Nathalie Roos, who stepped down as CEO in September.

Lipton Teas and Infusions stated that maintaining continuity was the best path forward, leading to the decision to formalize Laubies’ leadership. Roos had joined the company in 2022 under the ownership of CVC Capital Partners, following its acquisition from Unilever.

Bringing three decades of leadership experience in multinational corporations, Laubies has held executive roles at Mars and Campbell Soup Company. He is a former CEO of JDE Peet’s and Coty and remains a board member at Groupe Panzani.

Lipton Teas and Infusions owns a portfolio of well-known brands, including Lipton, PG Tips, and Pukka.

The company has also advanced its sustainability initiative through its Lipton Academy focused on Integrated Pest Management (IPM).

The program, developed in partnership with international organizations, aims to reduce pesticide reliance while maintaining agricultural livelihoods.

The IPM course covers topics such as biological pest control, phytosanitary management, abiotic stress mitigation, and technological advancements in pest management. The economic impact of IPM strategies on tea production is also a key focus.

More than 100 tea industry professionals and students will initially benefit from the program, which promotes sustainable farming practices.

Helen Saini, Head of Sustainable Agriculture R&D at Lipton Teas and Infusions, stated, “This course represents a major step toward more sustainable tea production. By bringing together global experts and local knowledge, we’re fostering innovation that will benefit both the industry and the environment.”
