UK – Lucozade, the renowned British brand of soft and energy drinks, is set to enhance its Alert brand portfolio with the introduction of two new flavors: Lucozade Alert Ultimate Energy and Lucozade Alert Zero Sugar.  

These new offerings, available in 250ml cans, will be on shelves starting in August, catering to the growing consumer demand for smaller, convenient formats. 

Lucozade Alert Ultimate Energy features a brand-new guarana flavor, while the Mango Peachade Zero 250ml can brings a zero-sugar option in a smaller size.  

These launches aim to attract new shoppers to the category by providing the right taste in the right format for retailers’ chillers. 

Recent consumer surveys indicate that half of stimulation drink shoppers prefer smaller cans, reflecting a rising trend toward more permissible options.  

The zero-sugar segment is particularly thriving, with a 26 percent growth, presenting significant opportunities for retailers. 

Aoife McGuigan, head of category expansion at Suntory Beverage & Food GB&I, commented, “We’re investing in the Lucozade Alert range to bring the right formats and flavours to market and drive even more sales for retailers this year.  

Research shows strong demand for smaller cans, with 31 percent of stimulation drinks now sold in 250ml cans. Our dynamic duo is set to appeal to new shoppers looking for high-caffeine options, so retailers should stock up now to see sales grow” 

The new flavors will retail at an RRP of £1 (US$1.09)each, with a price-marked pack (PMP) priced at £0.75 (US$0.81). 

Recently, Lucozade unveiled a new visual identity and packaging design that consolidates its ranges of Lucozade Energy and Lucozade Sport drinks under a unified masterbrand, presumably to retain its visibility and appeal within an increasingly competitive and crowded field.

This marks the biggest redesign by the company innearly 100 years.
