Mane expands in USA’s flavour industry with new manufacturing facility

It incorporates advanced robotic technologies for increased automation features, sourcing 30% of its energy from solar power.

USA – Mane, a worldwide producer of fragrance and flavour, has unveiled its new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility to increase production capacity for liquid flavours in North America by fivefold.

According to the company, the new facility exceeded an investment of US$100 million and will support its growth plans for 20 years. The plant is 100,000 square feet and offers up to 15,000 metric tons of production capability.

The new site strengthens its ability to meet the growing demands of the food and beverage industry while reaffirming its commitment to sustainability.

Designed with efficiency and innovation in mind, the facility allows delivery of high-quality, responsibly sourced flavours to valued clients across the region.

Amy McDonald, President of MANE’s North American Flavor Division, said, “The new Woodlawn facility marks a bold, strategic move aimed at increasing MANE’s market share in the liquid flavors category in North America and gives us a significant competitive edge, especially in the beverage market.”

She added that the expansion allows them to uphold a customer-focused manufacturing strategy, ensuring a reliable supply and greater agility and responsiveness to customer needs.

The new facility will use advancements in robotic technology to increase automated capacity, aligning with the company’s environmental, social, and governance goals.

Further, the facility allows for a threefold increase in large-tank compounding capacity while doubling its current capacity to produce emulsion-based flavor systems. The plant will use 30% solar energy for its energy requirements.

Mane opens facility in Japan

The news follows the company’s launch of a new fragrance factory in Saku City, Nagano Prefecture, which marks the continuation of MANE Japan’s distinguished 68-year legacy and represents a bold step into the future.

The design and operations of the new factory emphasise three core principles. First is employee well-being, which is supported by incorporating the latest technology to support staff’s physical well-being and designing workspaces with precise segmentation and ample room for productivity and comfort.

Second is environmental stewardship by implementing chimneys with odour control systems to minimise environmental impact and growing a herb garden to invite nature into the facilities.

The final is sustainable business growth; expanding the site area to 25 times the size of the previous factory and doubling the production capacity to meet growing demands.
