USA – Maple Hill, American organic dairy producer has partnered with Swiss aseptic packaging producer SIG Combibloc in developing a single-serve version of its 100% grass-fed organic milk.

The new eight-ounce Maple Hill’s Whole Milk and Chocolate Whole Milk cartons are designed to be convenient and portable with a re-closable cap and a leak-proof and tamper evident spout, to offer consumers an on-the-go option.

The new packaging are primarily made from raw, renewable wood and bear an Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified label representing its responsibility managed sources.

Carl Gerlach, President and chief executive officer of Maple Hill said; “there has not been an innovation in shelf-stable milk for years.

“For the first time ever, consumers will be able to get 100% grass-fed whole milk and chocolate milk on the shelf and in eco-friendly packaging.

“SIG has been an integral partner in bringing this product to the market in the right way.”

The brand continues to develop new and exciting products, providing consumers additional ways to enjoy the healthiest, highest quality dairy on the market.

The products are gluten free, kosher, USDA Organic and non-GMO, with zero antibiotics, artificial flavors or additives.

The single serve packs are available at Yankee Stadium in New York City, as well as on Amazon, and at nationwide retailers Publix, Amazon Fresh, Fairway Markets and Morton Williams.

However, the new cartons are currently not available in Germany, France, the UK, Italy, and Japan. Its shelf-stable package means it does not need to be refrigerated until after it is opened.

SIG is a leading systems and solutions provider for aseptic carton packaging end-to-end solutions for differentiated products, smarter factories and connected packs, all to address the ever-changing needs of consumers.

In July this year, the Switzerland based company announced that it will be investing US$198.65 million (€180 million) in establishing a new packaging production plant in Suzhou, China.

The company has also developed a new digital monitoring and control solution in a bid to help food and beverage manufacturers optimise filling plant operations.

In addition, SIG has also formed a joint venture with Japan’s Dai Nippon Printing to bring value-added carton packaging and filling technology solutions.
