CANADA –  Maple Leaf Foods Inc.has recently revealed the official name of its soon-to-be independent pork division, which will operate under the name Canada Packers Inc.

Dennis Organ, president of Maple Leaf’s Pork Complex and the incoming CEO of Canada Packers, expressed excitement about the new branding.

“We are proud to introduce Canada Packers as the name of our future standalone pork business,” Organ said.

He noted that the name acknowledges the history of the well-known brand while aligning with the company’s plans to grow into a leading global pork producer.

Maple Leaf Foods, which has been a dominant player in the pork industry for almost 100 years, said the newly established Canada Packers will continue that tradition with a focus on sustainable practices and expanding its reach internationally.

The new company’s branding will incorporate familiar elements, including a redesigned logo influenced by Maple Leaf Foods and the Canadian flag.

The design will feature shades of green and blue to emphasize its commitment to sustainability.

As the pork division spins off, Maple Leaf Foods will maintain its role in the packaged goods sector.

At the same time, Canada Packers will use its experience in pork production to establish itself as a global contender in the market for sustainably sourced meat.

Maple Leaf Foods will retain a 19.9% stake in Canada Packers after the separation.

The two companies will enter a long-term supply arrangement, under which Canada Packers will provide sustainably produced pork to Maple Leaf Foods, ensuring stability for both entities within the North American market.
