UK – Marussia Beverages, an import and distribution company in the UK has entered into an agreement with Constellation Brands to distribute its craft spirits brands in the UK.

Under the agreement, Marussia will distribute three brands under Contelstion’s portifolio; The Real McCoy Rum, Casa Noble Tequila and High West American Whiskey.

“We have a great network of relationships across the whole of the UK in both the on- and off-trade as well as a superb portfolio of spirits,” said Sarah Gandy, head of marketing at Marussia Beverages UK.

“We are delighted to be working with Constellation Brands’ craft spirits portfolio and incredibly excited to introduce everyone in the UK to The Real McCoy, Casa Noble and High West.”

Casa Noble is a triple-distilled premium organic and kosher tequila made from 100% blue agave. Its six-strong range includes Single Barrel Extra Añejo and Resposado expressions. Constellation Brands acquired Casa Noble in 2014.

High West is a US-based craft distillery. Its range includes Rendezvous, a 16-year-old rye whiskey, the premium bourbon American Prairie Reserve, and Double Rye, which Constellation acquired in 2016 for US$160 million.

Under the agreement, Marussia will represent the three spirits across both the on- and off-trade. The agreement will give the New York based company a stronger foot in the UK craft spirits market.

Constellation, through its investment venture initiative Focus on Female Founders has also expanded with the most recent acquisition of minority stake in Colorado-based craft rum maker Montanya Distillers.

Focus on Female Founders program was launched last year with a focus on female-founded and female-led businesses doing disruptive and innovative work across alcoholic beverages.

Constellation Brands intends to invest US$100 million in female-founded or female-led businesses in alcoholic beverage categories in ten years running to 2028.

The program supports emerging brands and technologies that are in or adjacent to the beverage alcohol space through capital provision.

The company completed its first investments in two specialty beverage companies- Austin Cocktails and Vivify Beverages.

In February, Constellation Brands acquired a minority stake in US craft alcohol firm Black Button Distilling, expanding its spirits portfolio.

It also acquired a majority stake in Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery, a Tennessee-based whiskey producer.
