USA – American multinational confectionery and snack food company Mondelez International, Inc. has debuted its first Oreo Cafe in an effort to attract in-person customers.

The new café located in the American Dream retail and entertainment complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey has been described by Mondelez as “a new, immersive and personalized way for all fans and cookie lovers to experience Oreo in person.”

The new store offers retail items including Oreo cookie products and official merchandise but also features a treats bar where guests can enjoy shakes, sundaes, cheesecake, and more made with Oreo cookies.

Customers may also customize a treat by choosing a dessert base, then selecting from a wide range of Oreo-inspired toppings to make more than 200 possible combinations.

The menu also includes an exclusive not-so-secret item known as the Oreo Donut S’Morewich which features scoops of Oreo ice cream, chocolate waffle cone pieces, a marshmallow, glazed donut, fudge, sprinkles and Oreo cookies.

From the moment of inception, the Oreo Cafe has always been about giving Oreo fans a fun and engaging environment,” Justin Clinger, director of licensing and marketing at It’Sugar, said in a statement published by AdWeek.

“From the sensational desserts to the one-of-a-kind merchandise, we have made it our priority to bring the Oreo brand to life in a unique way.”

Mars Wrigley’s Crunchy Cokey

Meanwhile, Mars Wrigley is set to launch a new crunchy cookie that combines its iconic M&M’s chocolate with chocolate chip cookies.

Slated for launch in 2022, the M&M’s Crunchy Cookie features a crunchy cookie-flavored centre covered in milk chocolate and wrapped in the brand’s iconic candy shell.

The new offering comes after Mars debuted limited-edition sugar cookie flavoured M&M’s last year and builds on the brand’s long history of customer-inspired innovation.

Our focus on developing innovation that meets consumer preference and their desire for variety, delivers on our promise to bring better moments to our fans, in this case, by putting a crunchy texture at the centre of their favourite chocolate candies,” said Allison Miazga-Bedrick, senior brand director of Mars Wrigley.

Earlier this year, Mars Wrigley launched M&M’s Mix and added two new flavours to its M&M’s Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich range: mint and classic.

The brand is also releasing M&M’s White Chocolate Pretzel Snowballs for the holiday season, as part of its 80th anniversary.
