USA – TruFood Manufacturing, a prominent contract manufacturer specializing in nutritious snacks like nutrition bars, chocolate, and granola, has officially completed its merger with Bar Bakers, LLC, a key player in the nutritional snacks manufacturing sector.
While the financial details remain undisclosed, investment firm Manna Tree has joined Mubadala Capital in supporting this collaboration.
Michael Buick, TruFood’s Chief Executive Officer, will assume leadership of the combined entity.
Harold Rothman, Founder and CEO of Bar Bakers, will join the new company’s Board of Directors, while Gary Jacobs, President of Bar Bakers, will take on the role of Chief Operating Officer.
Buick expressed enthusiasm about the merger, stating, “The amalgamation of TruFood and Bar Bakers represents a significant milestone in our journey, bolstering our standing in the nutritional snacks market. We’ve expanded our capabilities, diversified our product portfolio, and strategically extended our manufacturing reach to the west coast.”

Bar Bakers, founded in 2013, has been a key player on the west coast, offering cutting-edge production capabilities for major nutritional snack brands.
Their market-leading technologies in cold form, baked bars, and cookie and wafer manufacturing complement TruFood’s existing strengths, fostering stronger customer relationships and driving innovation.
With over 1,000 employees across four manufacturing sites and two warehouses in California, Bar Bakers will undergo a seamless integration process to ensure a smooth transition for all stakeholders.
Legal advisors Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP represented Mubadala Capital, while Winston & Strawn LLP and financial advisors Houlihan Lokey assisted Bar Bakers in this transaction.
