USA— Mars Petcare has appointed Nefertiti Greene president of the business’s new Science & Diagnostics division.

In this role and as a member of the Petcare leadership team, Greene will oversee the expanding diagnostics business and lead science throughout the company, including Waltham Petcare Science Institute.

The new division is based on the company’s pet biobank established in June 2022. It will operate in pet care across various areas like data science, dog and cat microbiomes, health and disease biomarkers and pet nutrition.

“I am excited to join the Mars Petcare leadership team and look forward to using my experience in the healthcare industry to help build on the successes in diagnostics and science at Mars Petcare,” Greene said. “As a pet owner I’m looking forward to helping further the reach and impact of diagnostics and science for pets around the world.”

In total, Greene has almost 30 years of industry experience in general management, commercial operations, pre-clinical and clinical research across both the pharmaceutical and medical technology realms.

Greene launched her career in scientific research with Regeneron and then worked in clinical research, marketing, and commercial operations with various pharmaceutical companies, including 4 years as the US division head for diabetes with Bayer before J&J.1

Most recently, Greene served as head of enterprise strategy and chief of staff to the CEO at Johnson & Johnson (J&J).  Before this, Greene served as US President of Ethicon, Inc, a multi-billion-dollar U.S. general surgery business.

She has also served as president of Janssen Therapeutics where she had P&L responsibility for the company’s US infectious diseases and vaccines pharmaceutical business.

Loic Moutault, president of Mars Petcare Global said that Nefertiti will play an integral role in the continued growth of Mars’ diagnostics business and accelerate the impact of its science.
