SOUTH AFRICA – Nestlé Group, the world’s largest food & beverage company has appointed Gabriel Nobre to lead its South African Nespresso division in a strategic move aimed at expanding its presence and market share in the country.
Nobre, who boasts a Postgraduate Degree in Business Administration and an MBA in Digital Business, brings a wealth of expertise gained through his extensive career within the Nestlé Group.
Nobre’s journey within the Nestlé Group began in 2005, and since then, he has occupied various key positions across multiple business units and corporate functions.
His diverse experience has not only sharpened his financial acuity but has also provided him with a comprehensive understanding of commercial operations.
Nestlé’s decision to entrust him with the helm of Nespresso South Africa demonstrated their confidence in his abilities to drive growth and innovation in the region.
With his solid background in both Finance and Control (F&C) and Commercial, Nobre is poised to make a significant impact on Nespresso South Africa’s future.
He is committed to steering the division towards a trajectory of robust expansion, with the ambitious goal of doubling its current market presence within the next five years.
To achieve this, Nobre has outlined a multifaceted strategy that includes the establishment of new retail stores and the creation of additional consumer touchpoints.
“We are looking forward to launching innovative new coffee machines and developing new bespoke coffees to surprise and delight our customers,” Nobre said during his appointment.
According to his statement, his vision encompasses not only improving the product portfolio but also enhancing the overall customer experience, ensuring that Nespresso South Africa remains a beloved choice for coffee enthusiasts.
In addition to innovation and growth, Nobre also promises to see through a significant sustainability opportunity within the South African market.
He assured to increase in the percentage of recycled coffee capsules in the region, aiming to surpass the current 50% recycling rate.
“This commitment not only aligns with Nestlé’s global sustainability goals but also sets a noteworthy example in South Africa, where Nespresso already exceeds the global average recycling rate by 18%,” he added.
According to the company, Nobre’s pragmatic approach and dedication to making a difference are poised to reshape Nespresso South Africa’s market position.
“His focus on innovation, expansion, and sustainability reflects Nestlé’s commitment to delivering high-quality products while addressing the environmental concerns of today,” the company noted.
“With Nobre at the helm, Nespresso South Africa is on a promising trajectory towards becoming a dominant force in the South African coffee market.”
