Nestle expands with launch of new KitKat pineapple candy flavor

The product is designed as a souvenir, reflecting Osaka’s vibrant candy culture.

JAPAN – Nestle Asia, a regional operator of the global Nestle S.A., has collaborated with Pine Candy to launch KitKat Pine Candy Flavor, expanding its product line.

According to the company, the product is a wafer sandwiched between creams containing pineapple juice powder, wrapped in pineapple-flavored dough, recreating the taste of pineapple candy in a KitKat.

Pine Candy is a sweet, sour, juicy candy that has supported Osaka’s “candy” culture. People give candy to people they know or meet for the first time as a conversation starter or greeting.

KitKat Pineapple Candy Flavor will be sold in shops in the Kansai area as a new souvenir that allows people to experience Osaka’s “candy” culture.

Nestlé introduces new KitKat tablets in Europe

Recently, the company launched its new KitKat tablets, which come in three flavors: double chocolate, hazelnut and salted caramel.

The company said the products are designed to capture the growing demand for indulgent and shareable chocolate experiences.

Renowned for providing consumers with a much-needed break during the day, KitKat is now expanding to new occasions, like those relaxing moments at home after work or during the weekend.

Stefano Agostini, Head of Confectionery Nestlé Zone Europe, said, “Consumer insights reveal a significant opportunity to enhance the appeal of filled tablets. The new KitKat tablets are breaking the codes of the more conservative tablet segment and making them more attractive to younger shoppers, which should drive growth.

“KitKat is one of Nestlé’s most successful brands. We are confident that with its brand power, it can successfully expand into new occasions and segments, enjoying a break at home while sharing a piece of chocolate with loved ones.”

The company added that KitKat already has a wide-ranging portfolio of tasty chocolate products. With these new tablets, Nestlé is leveraging the brand’s iconic crispy wafer and creating a multisensory experience through creamy fillings and visually appealing marbled chocolate.

Louise Barrett, Head of the Nestlé Research and Development center for Confectionery York, explained that the new KitKat tablets provide a unique multisensory experience by perfectly balancing the ingredient proportions and creating a delightful contrast between the chocolate shell and the delicious fillings.
