AFRICA – Nestlé has invited submissions for its 2018 Creating Shared Value (CSV) Prize, worth up to US$520,000, a prize awarded every two years by the Nestlé CSV Council.

In celebration of their 10 years since creation of CSV,Nestlé has partnered with Ashoka, the world’s leading network of system-changing social entrepreneurs.

The CSV Prize is open to all social, commercial and non-profit entities.

Since its launch in 2010, it has been a business-oriented initiative, which helps address the challenges of water, nutrition and rural development.

It also invests in financial and technical resources in the winning initiatives, helping them expand and achieve financial sustainability.

The prize is designed to recognize and support outstanding initiatives. They should have a proven concept tested through a pilot or small-scale enterprise, with the potential to scale or replicate in other settings or communities.

The projects must be built on sound and viable business model, which focuses on improving access to nutrition, enhancing rural development and has significant impact on water management practices.

According to the Director of Ashoka Switzerland, Olivier Fruchaud, “This union will foster powerful co-creation with social entrepreneurs, and deepen the social impact on the communities and beneficiaries they serve”

The applicants have a chance of winning a cash prize of USD $ 415,000 which can help grow their businesses further, a pitch opportunity at the World Water Forum in Brazil in 2018 and a prestigious Ashoka Fellowship.

The final lucky winner will also get the Lifetime Ashoka Fellowship.

Innovative businesses and social enterprises are invited to apply by October 31, 2017 or nominate top innovators by emailing Ashoka organisation.

The best initiatives will then be invited to Brazil to attend the CSV Forum, where the winner will be announced.
