ANGOLA – Angola has welcomed the inauguration of a new animal feed factory, Rações KN by WM Group a multi-industrial player, with a production capacity of 20 tons per hour.
The plant is dedicated to the production of different types of feed in varying packages measuring between 25 and 50 kilograms, to ensure affordability and availability of the products.
According to reports by Angola Press, this private investment of an undisclosed amount is set to create 150 jobs.
Further to that, the project will act as the main recipient or buyer of corn and soybeans grown by farmers in Cuanza Norte province, providing them with reliable and ready market for their produce, increasing their income.
The plant is built in an area of more than ten hectares and has a storage capacity of 2,500 tons of corn and 1,500 tons of soy.
The head of WM Group Rogério Leonardo has revealed that the company plans to double its stock capacity during the course of the year with a granulator processing 10 tons / hour and increase storage capacity to eight thousand tons.
Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Manuel Nunes Júnior has praised the investment, which he considers to be an asset for encouraging national production, especially in the agricultural sector.
For the minister, the factory unit will also contribute to the reactivation of a set of aviaries existing in the provinces of Cuanza Norte and Malanje, which were inoperative, due to the lack of animal feed and other technical components.
The Inauguration comes days after Webcor Group, one of Angola’s leading players in the agricultural commodities and business line, signed a partnership agreement with AP Foods to increase the production of pasta and widen distribution of the product in the country.
AP Foods is an Angolan milling company founded in 2016. It commenced operations with an installation of 20,000 tons/year pasta production plant.
Meanwhile in Ghana, Koudijs Ghana Ltd, part of Netherlands based Koudijs Animal Nutrition, subsidiary of Royal De Heus has launched the revolutionary complete layer feed solution in the market.
According to the leading producer of complete feed programs, concentrates and premixes in Ghana, the new feed provides poultry farmers with the right and strictly controlled nutrients in the most balanced ratios.
The product is produced at its newly built factory, sitting on a 500 acre-land in Tema, with a production capacity of 90,000 tons a year.
Construction of the company’s first compound animal feed factory in West Africa commenced in 2019, marking an important milestone for Koudijs as it transitioned from an importer to a local processor.
