Nigeria Eat n’ Go opens 100th fast food outlet in US$27.78m investment plan

NIGERIA – Eat n’ Go Limited, Nigeria’s franchisee for Domino’s Pizza, Cold Stone Creamery and Pinkberry gourmet frozen yoghurt, has opened a new outlet in Lagos.

Speaking at the unveiling in Lagos recently, Patrick McMichael, the chief executive of Eat n’ Go said that the new store brings the number of outlet operated under the brands to 100 stores.

He said that this was a reflection of the firm’s commitment to bringing quality and innovative food products to Nigeria’s quick service restaurants, while also becoming the premier dynamic and unique food operator in Africa, reports the Punch.

According to him, over US$27.78 million (N10bn) has been invested in growing the business in Nigeria, stressing that the company will continue to expand its business supported by its partnership with strong local financial institutions in the country.

Patrick noted that the firm seeks to open over 300 stores in Nigeria over the next five years.

“Right now, we are celebrating our 100th store, but we are already up to construction of 116 stores as we speak and we are still looking for sites, we have a plan to open more than 300 stores across Nigeria in the next five years,” he said.

The franchisee said that as part of the growth and expansion plan, it intends to bring in superior global food brands and concepts across Nigeria and even beyond in its quest of exploring the sector.

“We understand the uniqueness and dynamic nature of the Nigerian market and we have constantly ensured that we continue provide value to our consumers through our products and service offerings.

“We have also invested in manpower development for our team who have shown so much dedication and passion to growing the business to where it is today.

“We are excited and we cannot wait to do even more as we continue to expand the business to different frontiers across Africa” the chief executive said earlier on.

Since its establishment in 2012, Eat’ n’ Go has employed over 2000 staff across board a number which Patrick notes will increase to over 5000 under the expansion.

Eat n’ Go prides as the fastest growing quick service restaurant (QSR) business in Nigeria.

Eat’ n’ Go was also recently listed alongside other companies in the consumer services category to inspire Africa in 2019 during the second edition of the ‘Companies to Inspire Africa’ by the London Stock Exchange Group.
