NORWAY – Ode, a Norwegian seafood company, is announcing the appointment of Kenneth Schaug-Pettersen as their new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Although Kenneth has no prior experience in the seafood industry, his interest in the sector has been sparked by the significant potential of farmed cod.
He assumes his role in managing the company’s financial activities, covering the hatchery, processing plant, marine facilities, and headquarters.
Kenneth, a native and resident of Ålesund, Møre og Romsdal, Norway, where Ode is based, has a strong background in finance.
He holds a master’s degree from NHH Norwegian School of Economics and a bachelor’s degree from BI Norwegian Business School.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the seafood industry, Kenneth highlights the immense potential of farmed cod and the broader trends supporting its future.
“Farming cod has the potential to replicate the success story of farmed salmon, given the need for more, healthier, and sustainably produced protein,” he states.
He further emphasizes his confidence in Ode’s business model and the dedicated team at the company.
“Working in such a vital and relevant industry in my hometown of Ålesund, and contributing to the development of coastal businesses, adds motivation and purpose,” Kenneth remarks.
Ode’s CEO, Ola Kvalheim, warmly welcomes Kenneth to the team, noting, “We are delighted to welcome Kenneth to the Ode team. His extensive experience and expertise will undoubtedly make him a key figure in the future success of our business.”
In recent months, Ode’s growth plan is seeing significant progress with the approval of a new site, enhancing the company’s production capacity and flexibility.
Ode now operates six marine farms and has an annual production capacity exceeding 25,000 tons.
Additionally, in February, Ode completed its integration of the value chain for cod farming by acquiring the Vartdal processing plant from Måsøval.
Headquartered in Ålesund, Møre og Romsdal, Norway, Ode is a fully integrated seafood company specializing in premium quality, sustainable farmed cod.
The company operates marine facilities in Nordfjord, Volda, Vestnes, and Aure, alongside Lumarine’s rearing facility at Tjeldbergodden and the processing plant in Vartdal.
Ode employs nearly 150 people, committed to delivering top-tier seafood products.
