Pernod Ricard appoints Gagandeep Sethi as Head of Sustainability & Responsibility 

INDIA – Pernod Ricard India, a subsidiary of the renowned beverage giant Pernod Ricard, has appointed Gagandeep Sethi as the Head of Sustainability & Responsibility, in addition to his existing role as Senior Vice President of Integrated Operations. 

In his new capacity, Sethi will lead the charge in driving social responsibility and sustainable development efforts for the company.  

Pernod Ricard India CEO Jean Touboul expressed confidence in Sethi’s abilities, stating, “Gagandeep has played a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and business transformation across various functions, making him the ideal leader to spearhead our S&R initiatives and contribute to our long-term sustainability goals.” 

Sethi, with over two decades of corporate experience and expertise in operations, strategy, and business development, will oversee the design, development, and implementation of impactful initiatives.  

The company emphasizes a strong focus on scalable water positivity and community-centered social impact programs under his guidance. 

Pernod Ricard joins WBCSD 

Concurrently, Pernod Ricard has joined the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), aligning with a global coalition of businesses dedicated to limiting the climate crisis, restoring nature, and addressing inequality.  

The company envisions building a world where nine billion people can live well within the planet’s boundaries by 2050. 

The company’s 2030 Sustainability & Responsibility roadmap, titled “Good Times from a Good Place,” centers on four key pillars: Nurturing Terroir, Valuing People, Circular Making, and Responsible Hosting.  

This roadmap comprehensively addresses all aspects of the business and aligns directly with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 

As part of its commitment to sustainable practices, the Martell maker has also joined the One Planet Business for Biodiversity (OP2B), an international business coalition focusing on regenerative agriculture.  

Through this collaboration, the company aims to drive systemic change and catalyze action to protect and restore both cultivated and natural biodiversity within agricultural value chains. 

Diane Holdorf, WBCSD Executive Vice President, expressed enthusiasm about Pernod Ricard joining the council, stating, “By working with our community of business leaders to advance regenerative practices, Pernod Ricard is determined to foster positive change within agricultural systems.” 

Maria Pia de Caro, Executive Vice President of Integrated Operations and Sustainability at Pernod Ricard, emphasized the importance of collaboration and sharing best practices in making a profound impact.  

She affirmed the company’s commitment to engaging in the OP2B initiative, focusing on scaling regenerative practices and protecting biodiversity within agriculture.
