Pernod Ricard expands non-alcoholic portfolio with Ramazzotti Aperitivo Arancia 0.0% launch

FRANCE – French spirits giant Pernod Ricard is strengthening its presence in the non-alcoholic aperitif market with the introduction of Ramazzotti Aperitivo Arancia 0.0%.

The new product, an alcohol-free extension of its popular Ramazzotti amaro brand, will be available in Germany and Austria starting in April.

Priced at €13.99 (US$15.20) for a 70 cl bottle, the launch aligns with the company’s strategy to tap into the rapidly growing non-alcoholic spirits segment.

Pernod Ricard described the category as “one of the fastest-growing spirit markets” and emphasized that the new offering complements its premium portfolio with a distinctive taste experience.

Clémence Kurtz, head of brand management for Pernod Ricard’s German business, highlighted the significance of the launch, stating, “With Ramazzotti, we are introducing an alcohol-free aperitif for the first time.

Following Aperitivo Rosato, Aperitivo Fresco, and Limoncello, Aperitivo Arancia 0.0% is the perfect addition to our Italian Ramazzotti portfolio to meet the growing demand for non-alcoholic spirits.”

In recent years, the company has expanded its offerings, acquiring Swedish botanical-based spirit brand Ceder’s in 2021, launching Jacob’s Creek Unvined wine, and introducing Suze Tonic 0% in France.

The company has also developed non-alcoholic variants of its well-known brands, including Beefeater 0.0%, launched in Spain last year, and Seagram’s 0.0%, available there since January 2023.

Pernod Ricard has actively invested in the non-alcoholic sector, particularly in agave-based and ready-to-drink (RTD) alternatives.

In August, it acquired a minority stake in Almave, an agave-based spirit backed by Formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton.

Almave, launched in 2023, is currently sold in the US, Canada, and key European markets, including the UK, Ireland, and Germany.

The company also invested, through its Convivialité Ventures arm, in New Zealand-based non-alcoholic RTD producer AF Drinks.

Additionally, Pernod Ricard has developed new technical facilities to advance its expertise in non-alcoholic beverages, though specific investment details remain undisclosed.

Earlier this month, the Absolut Vodka owner expanded its premium non-alcoholic portfolio into the Middle East, targeting the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait.

The regional lineup includes Ceder’s, Beefeater 0.0%, and Jacob’s Creek Sparkling 0.0%, reinforcing the company’s commitment to the alcohol-free sector.
