INDIA – Pernod Ricard India, the second-largest alcoholic beverage company in the country, has unveiled its plan to triple revenue over the next decade by focusing on premiumisation and innovation in the Indian market.
As part of this strategic initiative, the company has launched two new whiskies: Royal Stag Double Dark Peaty Whisky and Blenders Pride Four Elements Premium Whisky.
These launches follow the introduction of Longitude 77, the company’s first Indian Single Malt, earlier this year.
These new products are a significant step in Pernod Ricard India’s efforts to strengthen its position in the premium whisky segment, which has experienced rapid growth amid evolving consumer preferences.
The company plans to leverage the strong market presence of its flagship brands, Royal Stag and Blenders Pride, both of which hold leadership positions in their respective segments.
The newly launched variants are designed to capture a larger share of the premium market.
Blenders Pride Four Elements Premium Whisky distinguishes itself with a blend of four distinct styles of Scotch malts and Indian grain spirits, each representing one of the four elemental forces: Air, Water, Fire, and Earth.
This creates a complex and vibrant flavor profile, further enhanced by packaging designed by Love International (UK), which uses different colors to symbolize the Four Elements.
Royal Stag Double Dark Peaty Whisky, on the other hand, introduces a distinctively smoky blend profile, a first in its segment.
This whisky is crafted from double-distilled Scotch malts matured in dark charred American and European oak barrels, blended with select peated malt and grain-neutral spirits. Its vibrant, contemporary packaging, designed by FCB India, further sets it apart in the market.
Both feature limited use of mono-cartons during the launch phase, aligning with Pernod Ricard’s broader sustainability commitments.
This initiative is part of the company’s larger sustainability roadmap, “Good Times From a Good Place,” which emphasizes eco-friendly packaging.
Kartik Mohindra, Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Global Business Development at Pernod Ricard India, stated, “India offers significant opportunities for growth and innovation. Our newest releases, Blenders Pride Four Elements and Royal Stag Double Dark, cater to the changing whisky preferences of discerning Indian consumers. These unique line extensions demonstrate our commitment to innovation and premiumisation.”
The rollout of these products is expected to be completed by December 2024.
