INDIA – Plantaway, India’s plant-based foods heavyweight, is introducing plant based sausages and pepperoni products.
This comes after recently being honored as the ‘Best Plant-Based Food Brand 2024’ by the Plant-Based Foods Industry Association (PBFIA).
Made from high-quality pea protein and free from any preservatives, these products provide a delicious substitute for traditional meat.
The Plant-Based Sausage packs a punch with 22 grams of protein per serving, while the Pepperoni delivers 16 grams of protein, both accompanied by a rich source of dietary fiber.
Romil Ratra, CEO of Plantaway, emphasizes the company’s commitment to catering to the evolving preferences of consumers who prioritize health and sustainability.

The plant-based protein market is witnessing a substantial rise in popularity as more consumers turn towards alternatives to animal-based proteins.
This shift is influenced by health considerations, ethical concerns, environmental awareness, and personal dietary choices.
According to a report by Mordor Intelligence, the market for plant protein in India is projected to grow from US$0.91 billion in 2024 to US$1.21 billion by 2029, at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.85%.
Consumers can purchase the new Plant-Based Sausage and Pepperoni through Plantaway’s direct-to-consumer website and via food delivery platforms Swiggy and Zomato in cities including Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, and Hyderabad.
The Plant-Based Sausage is available in a 200-gram pack priced at Rs. 375 (US$4.49), while the Plant-Based Pepperoni comes in a 125-gram pack for Rs. 375 (US$4.49).
