ECOWAS – Promasidor Group, one of the leading supplier of quality food products in more than 30 African countries, has appointed its current CEO of Ghana, Festus Tettey as the CEO of ECOWAS excluding Nigeria with immediate effect.

In the new role, Mr. Tettey will oversee its operations across the rest of West Africa excluding Nigeria, that is Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Cote D’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo.

The Group commended Festus Tettey for his immense contribution to the robust and solid growth of Promasidor Ghana, having held numerous leadership roles including Sales and Marketing Director, Ghana, Commercial Director of Promasidor Nigeria and recently, CEO Promasidor Ghana for 6 years.

In the same strategic reshuffle, the Group also appointed Samir Sadaoui as its new CEO for Ghana effective January 6, 2025 reporting to the CEO of ECOWAS excluding Nigeria.

Samir Sadaoui assumes his new role with extensive experience from his past roles as the Commercial Director of Promasidor Algeria, as well as Ghana, during which period he delivered outstanding results and achievements.

Promasidor Ghana Limited (PGH) has been providing quality food products for the past 25 years following the launch of its flagship brand, Cowbell in 1999.

Since then, the company has pioneered beverage extensions of the Cowbell brand such as Cowbell Coffee, Cowbell Strawberry, Cowbell Mocha and Cowbell Chocomalt amongst others.

In Nigeria, Promasidor Nigeria Limited appointed Francois Gillet as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective July 1, 2024.

Francois succeeded Bruno Gruwez, who has decided to pursue new opportunities outside the Promasidor Group, a statement said.

He joined Promasidor Nigeria from Danone, where he served as General Manager in Réunion. Before his tenure at Danone, he had a long career as a General Manager with Lactalis (a world leader in dairy) in Algeria and Brazil.

Promasidor was founded in 1979 by Robert Rose, who left the United Kingdom in 1957 to pursue his African dream in Zimbabwe.

The company exemplified its diverse manufacturing prowess following the launch of its Onga Powder and Tablets variants in 2003 and 2011 respectively.

Promasidor is also a major player in the Infant Cereal category with the Yum Vita brand which was launched in 2014. The food manufacturing giant introduced its chocolate beverage, Twisco in 2023 to the market.

Since then, Promasidor has expanded its presence to several African countries. Promasidor Nigeria commenced operations in 1993 and has achieved remarkable growth over the years.
