UK- Baking company Regal Foods has announced the acquisition of local cheesecake company Love Cheesecake for an undisclosed amount.
Regal Foods intends to leverage Love Cheesecakes’ product portfolio, which will allow it to provide customers with a wider product range to choose from across different pricing points.
Love Cheesecakes portfolio includes single-serve and canapé-size cheesecakes, which come in lemon and lime, milk and white chocolate, and caramel and toffee flavors. Its cheesecakes range are sold to foodservice companies, wholesalers and hospitality customers throughout the UK.
The cheesecake company also sells its products directly to customers through outdoor events, catering, and online platforms like Amazon.
The acquisition is part of Regal Foods’ mass expansion strategy, which has been implemented over the past two years. The merger and acquisition strategy started in 2022 with the acquisition of Just Desserts Yorkshire. In January, Regal Foods acquired Love Handmade Cakes for an undisclosed amount.
Love Cheesecakes will be Regal Foods’ third major acquisition since 2022.
The latest acquisition increases Regal Foods’ catalog to 100 different brands. This vast array of brands provides an excellent opportunity to develop and refine products and appeal to different customer categories.
Younis Chaudhry, Regal Foods’ CEO, said, “As a group, we have the resources and infrastructure in place to bring Love Cheesecakes in line with our vision and family of dessert brands and look forward to integrating the bakery and its assets into one of our existing manufacturing sites.”
“This strategic step will further strengthen our growth and open up opportunities in the chilled desserts category.”
Love Cheesecakes also welcomed the acquisition and expressed optimism over the growth potential the acquisition offers.
James Asquith, Love Cheesecake’s Founder, said, “I am confident that Regal Food Products Group’s expertise and resources will take the bakery to new heights, reaching even more customers and continuing to deliver the quality and values we as a business stand for.”
The purchase comes barely a month after regal Foods purchased a 45,000 square foot facility in Bradford. The new facility will help bolster the company’s production capacity.
