INDIA – Reliance Consumer Products Ltd (RCPL), the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) arm of Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd (RRVL), has announced its entry into the rehydrating beverage category with the launch of RasKik Gluco Energy.
According to RCPL, RasKik Gluco Energy combines electrolytes, glucose, and real lemon juice, providing an affordable and refreshing solution for hydration and energy needs.
This marks a significant move by RCPL to diversify its product portfolio and reinforce its goal of becoming a “total beverage and consumer products company.”
RasKik Gluco Energy is available at an accessible price of Rs 10 (US$0.12) for a single-serve pack, and the company plans to introduce a 750 ml home consumption pack in the near future.
The launch aligns with RCPL’s broader strategy of offering products that meet global standards while addressing the specific needs and preferences of Indian consumers.
With RasKik, the company seeks to build a robust portfolio of fruit-based drinks, juices, and functional beverages inspired by Indian regional flavors.
Currently, RasKik offers a range of variants, including mango, apple, mixed fruit, coconut water, and nimbu pani.
Commenting on the launch, Ketan Mody, Chief Operating Officer of RCPL, said, “As a company, we are deeply rooted in Indian traditions and are reinventing Indian consumer heritage through our brands. RasKik Gluco Energy brings back the goodness of traditional rehydration that many of us grew up with, whether during or after games or as a way to beat the heat.”
He added, “RasKik Gluco Energy is more than just hydration—it’s about revitalizing and energizing the Indian consumer while ensuring hygiene, quality, and the convenience of ready-to-drink offerings that suit modern lifestyles.”
The launch follows RCPL’s acquisition of the RasKik beverage brand in 2023.
In September 2024, RRVL announced plans to consolidate most of its FMCG brands under RCPL, a move accompanied by a significant investment of up to Rs 3,900 crore (US$373.25M) into RCPL through a combination of equity and debt.
Additionally, RCPL is setting up four to five dedicated bottling plants to support its growing beverage portfolio, which includes the iconic Campa brand.
