UK – Revyve, a food technology company based in the Netherlands, has formed a partnership with Daymer Ingredients to introduce its sustainable, yeast-based texturizing ingredients to the UK market.
This collaboration represents Revyve’s first international distribution deal and will make its egg replacement products available to British food and beverage producers.
Daymer Ingredients aims to expand the range of high-performance, natural ingredients available to UK manufacturers with this addition.
The ingredients, which carry a clean-label designation, are produced using Revyve’s proprietary micro-milling technology, which extracts valuable proteins and fibers from yeast.
These ingredients provide various functional benefits, including heat-set gelling, binding, and emulsification properties, according to the company.
“The UK food market is sophisticated, with consumers who prioritize natural, recognizable ingredients,” noted James Brace, Managing Director of Daymer Ingredients.
He added that the familiarity of British consumers with yeast makes the UK a suitable market for Revyve’s offerings.
Revyve’s yeast-derived ingredients are priced competitively with traditional eggs and can serve as egg replacements in products such as plant-based meats, sauces, potato items, baked goods, and appetizers.
The partnership announcement follows Revyve’s recent release of a new gluten-free egg replacer made from baker’s yeast and the inauguration of its first commercial production facility in Dinteloord, Netherlands.
Earlier this year, Revyve’s CEO Cedric Verstraeten emphasized the sustainability benefits of reducing the use of “hidden egg” in everyday products, addressing potential supply chain issues.
Revyve will showcase its egg replacer at Fi Europe and Plant Based World Expo in London this November.
At Fi Europe, Revyve will present bakery product samples featuring its ingredient at the Cosun booth #3.1F20, while its booth at Plant Based World Expo (#C24) will be staffed in collaboration with Daymer Ingredients.
Both companies will be available for discussions and meetings with industry attendees.
