SOUTH AFRICA – Embracing innovation, Robberg Distillery has introduced two distinctive gins specifically tailored for the South Africa market: Olive Gin and Cape Malay Gin.
Crafted with a diverse selection of botanicals, the Olive Gin comprises olives, rosemary, basil, thyme, citrus, coriander, and juniper.
According to Robberg Distillery, these meticulously chosen ingredients are infused together to create a dry gin boasting a distinct olive taste.
Conversely, the Cape Malay Gin exudes a distinctive aroma drawn from an equally diverse blend of botanicals, including Cape Malay cousin, turmeric, coriander, cardamom, cloves, black pepper, fennel, star anise, cinnamon, and juniper.
According to Robberg Distillery, the gin is further blend with Honeybush, unique to the Southern shore of Africa, giving it its amber colour and sweet delicate floral notes.
Robberg Distillery, situated along the Garden Route of South Africa in the town of Plettenberg Bay is a craft distillery that produces craft whiskies, gins and selected liquor.
The craft distillery says that its whiskies are made from local grain and malt grind, fermented, triple distilled and aged in oak barrels in our cellar.
“Our gins are made from ENA alcohol and re-distilled in a 250L gin still with a selection of botanicals that give our gins their distinct flavours,” the company proudly states on its website.
To crown the craft distillation processing, Robberg says that bottling and labelling of the gins are done by hand with each bottle receiving the extra attention of being labelled individually.
