Saudi Coffee Company, HPDC partner to expand Halal-Certified coffee market

The collaboration aims to enhance halal certification, boost market expansion, and support Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 economic diversification goals.

SAUDI ARABIA – The Saudi Coffee Company (SCC) has signed an agreement with the Halal Products Development Company (HPDC) to strengthen cooperation between the coffee and halal industries.

This collaboration will facilitate halal certification, knowledge sharing, and expanded market access for Saudi coffee.

HPDC, a Saudi-based organization dedicated to developing and promoting halal-certified products, ensures compliance with global halal standards.

Through this partnership, SCC aims to introduce its coffee products to a broader consumer base while supporting the growing demand for halal-certified goods.

The agreement covers various areas of cooperation, including workshops, market research, training programs, and certification compliance. By working together, SCC and HPDC seek to promote Saudi coffee as a premium halal-certified beverage in global markets.

“As demand for halal-certified products continues to grow worldwide, this partnership enables us to explore new markets and cater to halal-conscious consumers,” said Mohammed Zainy, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at SCC.

“We are excited to expand our presence with HPDC and introduce high-quality Saudi coffee to a wider audience.”

Sarah AlMugairin, Advisor to the CEO of HPDC, highlighted the significance of the agreement in strengthening Saudi Arabia’s global standing in the halal sector.

This collaboration reinforces Saudi coffee’s position in international markets while enhancing the Kingdom’s role in the global halal industry,” she said.

The initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which focuses on economic diversification and the expansion of halal-certified industries.

By leveraging halal certification, SCC aims to contribute to this national strategy while increasing the international reach of its coffee products.

In February, SCC further reinforced its commitment to the local coffee industry by securing seven additional strategic partnerships with private sector firms. These agreements, announced at the PIF Private Sector Forum 2025 in Riyadh, aim to boost coffee production, drive innovation, and create a more sustainable supply chain.

SCC’s partnership with Shahia Food Limited Company focuses on research and product development. The company also expanded its agreement with Alghanim Industries, the Saudi franchisee of Costa Coffee, to source coffee beans from its new manufacturing facility in Jazan.

Additional collaborations include a freeze-drying technology project with Future Harvest, specialized fertilizer development with Ma’aden, and product innovation with chocolatier Aani & Dani.

SCC has also partnered with Initial Saudi Group and Lawazem to enhance supply chain and facilities management.
