USA –Saxco International, a leading supplier of bottles, cans, and jars, has acquired the We Sleeve-It (WSI) assets from the RB Dwyer Group of Companies to bolster its labeling capabilities.

With six facilities across the United States, We Sleeve-It is a leader in the craft beverage industry and the largest domestic shrink decorator of aluminum cans.

Its acquisition significantly strengthens Saxco’s aluminum can service offerings to the beverage market and expands its geographical locations in North America.

Shrink sleeves are one alternative to pre-printed cans, particularly for wine, beer or spirits producers with smaller-scale runs. The plastic sleeves are formed onto blank cans, called “brites.”

Major suppliers of cans started reporting disruptions in supply of cans a year ago, and some in recent months raised minimum orders for preprinted containers.

This has thus made sleeving operations a critical service to craft beverage customers who are usually in need of smaller order quantities.

It increases flexibility yet provides the industry with a packaging product that speaks to their brand and to their consumers.

With the acquisition, Saxco is now positioned to provide the cans, associated packaging, and sleeving services through a single engagement.

“We are very excited about the addition of We Sleeve-It to the Saxco Services portfolio,” stated John (JB) Berry, Chief Executive Officer at Saxco.

Based in the East Bay in Concord, Saxco described the acquisition as a further move into aluminum cans, now offering sourcing of the cans as well as related packaging and sleeving.

“The acquisition of WSI, coupled with our strong and growing relationships with domestic and international aluminum can manufacturing partners, positions Saxco to bring tremendous value to our customers of all sizes and in turn be a partner to them as they grow their businesses and achieve their dreams.”

Jim Dwyer, CEO at RB Dwyer Group revealed that his company viewed Saxco as the perfect strategic partner having worked so closely for the past three years.

“Together we will have the resources and reach to take WSI to the next level through growing the existing sleeving business and adding additional products, capabilities and services.”
