ZAMBIA – Seaboard Overseas and Trading Group is looking for a suitable candidate for the role of Group Operations Manager to be based in Lusaka, Zambia.
The role will be responsible for three mills and a workforce of over 500, including a new greenfield wheat mill with new milling equipment and a maize mill situated at a different location.
The role will require one to handle the operations, performance and management of the three plants, including departments such as production, maintenance, distribution and warehousing for Seaboard’s National Milling Corporation (NAMILCO), one of Zambia’s largest milling operations.
Experience of either Six Sigma, Kaizen or other best practice manufacturing is desirable, as is the knowledge of a prominent leading original milling equipment manufacturer.
The right candidate would be preferable to have around 10 plus years’ experience in a similar role and looking to progress his/her milling career
Seaboard says that the position requires the candidate to also ensure a consistently high quality of finished products as established and expected by the company and the market.
He/She will also continue seek new and better methods to improve the overall operation and efficiency of the milling operation and also manage periodic replacement and upgrade of plants, processes, components and individual machines as needed.

Operations Manager Nigeria
The company is also seeking to hire an Operations Manager in Nigeria responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the production assets of the company.
He/she will also be tasked with management of the wheat, maize, feed and finished product inventory from reception to dispatch.
Degree in milling or accredited certificate in Milling Sciences is preferred with 5+ year grain milling experience.
