ZIMBABWE – Simbisa Brands, the quick service restaurant business owned by Innscor Africa has launched a mobile application dubbed Dial-a-Delivery (DaD) to enhance efficiency in its delivery network, reports the Herald.
The platform boosts efficient delivery of products to customers through centralised call centres.
Customers place orders through the phone via the DaD application and meals are delivered.
Using an automated process, the orders are mapped and tracked in the system and enables the firm to provide delivery services for Chicken Inn, Pizza Inn, Nando’s, Steers and RocoMamas.
DaD marketing manager Tanya Thomas said the company strives to deliver food to their consumers in the comfort of their homes and offices and the revamped platform complements this commitment.
According to her, the launch was a way of embracing technology for the benefit of customers, and in line with the ease of doing business mantra being championed by government.
“There is a lot of technology when it comes to a lot of things that are happening in the world.
As Zimbabwe, we are adopting what is happening in the world in terms of technology,” said Ms Thomas.
“You would see that a lot of people have become techno savvy, so what we are doing as a company is to then say, we used to have a Dial-a-Delivery (facility) where people would call to the call centre.
“People are using their mobile phones; you would find that there is mobile banking and a lot of things happening through using mobile phones.”
The app can be accessed on Google Play Store for android phone or iStore for iPhones and it allows consumers to choose the location where they want food to be delivered.
It gives a menu of the firm’s five different brands which are Nando’s, Steers, RocoMamas, Chicken Inn and Pizza and has a tracker that keeps the customer updated on the whereabouts of the delivery person.
“There is an option for those paying using Ecocash to pay before the delivery.
The application is user friendly and once you have placed the order it takes not more than 45 minutes to be delivered,” said Ms Thomas.
The service will be available Harare and Bulawayo with plans to further roll out in other regions.
Dial a Delivery (DaD) is a stand-alone brand that is an integral part of the Simbisa Brands portfolio with a focus to promote efficiency and convenience in the way customers purchase.
