SAUDI ARABIA – Siniora Foods, a meat processing company headquartered in Jerusalem, Israel, is expanding its footprint in the Saudi Arabian market with the construction of a new manufacturing facility.
The company, which operates in markets such as Jordan, Palestine, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates, confirmed the project during the Saudi HORECA 2024 exhibition in Jeddah, with an investment of approximately US$40 million.
The facility, to be built in Jeddah, aims to enhance Siniora’s production capacity in cold cuts and frozen foods.
The plant will focus on creating “Made in Saudi Arabia” products, targeting local consumers and aligning with the country’s efforts to strengthen its domestic food production sector.
Siniora Foods showcased its frozen food products at the Saudi HORECA 2024 event.
Held from November 24 to 26, the exhibition featured 350 companies, representing around 20,000 brands, and facilitated deals valued at approximately US$827 million in 2023.
The event highlights the growing role of food products, frozen foods, and related industries, which account for 18% of attendees.
The company, with a portfolio including brands such as Polonez, Almasa, and Badeel, plans to use the new facility to strengthen its presence in the Saudi Arabian market.
Badeel, a certified vegan and gluten-free plant-based brand, is recognized as the first of its kind in the Middle East.
Saudi Arabia’s food industry, valued at US$55 billion in 2024, is poised for further growth, with a projected annual increase of 3.99% until 2029.
Bread and cereal products account for the largest share of revenue, generating US$10.1 billion.
The country’s online food sector, 1.4% of total revenues, presents untapped opportunities for market players.
In line with its push for local production, Saudi Arabia operates over 1,300 food factories across 36 cities.
The government also launched the “Made in Saudi Arabia” initiative in 2021, encouraging businesses like Siniora Foods to promote locally made products.
Companies participating in the program use a unified logo to strengthen their appeal to domestic and global consumers.
