Laird Superfood unveils adaptogenic protein bars

Plant-based superfood firm Laird Superfood is expanding its portfolio into the snack category with the launch of new adaptogenic protein bars.

The brand’s first protein bar, The Laird Superfood Plant-Based Protein Bar with Adaptogens— active ingredients in certain plants and mushrooms that may impact how your body deals with stress, anxiety and fatigue— is free from any gluten, dairy, soy and whey.

The bars are powered by plant-based protein from peas, hemp seeds and pumpkin seeds and each one contains 10g of protein, 6g of dietary fibre and 9 essential amino acids, plus added benefits of adaptogens from chaga and lion’s mane extracts.

Laird Superfood’s protein bars are available in peanut butter, peanut butter chocolate chip, chocolate mint and lemon almond variants.

PepsiCo launches tamarind-flavoured Doritos

PepsiCo-owned brand Doritos has added to its US snack portfolio a new limited-edition Tangy Tamarind flavour.

The new offering joins previous limited-edition releases in Doritos’ ‘Tangy’ lineup, including Doritos Tangy Pickle and Doritos Tangy Ranch.

Doritos Tangy Tamarind are available now in select and nationwide US retailers for a limited time only.

McVitie’s launches Go Ahead FibreJacks

Pladis-owned brand McVitie’s has announced the launch of a new range of fruit-flavoured flapjacks that are high in fibre, called Go Ahead FibreJacks.

Baked with whole grain oats, Go Ahead FibreJacks is available in raspberry and blueberry flavours.

They are available in the UK at Sainsbury’s stores for an RRP of 65p for a single bar and £1.99 for a four-pack. The new offering is also expected to roll out at other select UK stores from next month.

Soozy’s Grain-Free launches Birthday Cake Donuts

Soozy’s Grain-Free, a US gluten-free baked goods brand, has added a new birthday cake flavour to its donuts portfolio.

Birthday Cake Donuts, which is non-GMO project verified, is sweetened with organic coconut sugar and maple syrup, and contains no refined sugar, processed grains and artificially coloured sprinkles. Soozy’s uses sprinkles coloured from plants and vegetables, such as red cabbage, beet and turmeric.

The new flavour is said to be made with half the amount of sugar of a traditional baked good, all while being free of grains, dairy, soy, gums, refined sugar and preservatives.

Birthday Cake Donuts will be available at Sprouts Farmers Market for an SRP of US$7.99 per four-count box.

JARS by dani launches ice cream cakes

JARS by dani, the dessert brand famous for colorful and delicious layers in mason jars, has launched its latest innovation, ice cream cake.

Taking its most popular JAR layers and pairing them with cake and ice cream, the multi-layered cakes debuting this summer are nut free and come in a colorful illustrative box.

Flavors include:

Loaded Cookie – Packed with layers of chocolate chip vanilla cake, cookie dough ice cream, rainbow sprinkles, brownie batter, chocolate chunks, crumbled Oreo, fudge brownie chunks and whipped cream topped with cookie dough and mini chocolate chips.

Cake Batter – Funfetti cake, vanilla ice cream, rainbow sprinkles, cake batter, chunks of sugar cookie, whipped cream and topped with rainbow sprinkles.

Strawberry Shortcake – A classic barbie-pink core made up of pink vanilla cake, layered with vanilla ice cream, pink sprinkles, fresh strawberry filling and chunks of sugar cookie mixed with fluffy whipped cream, topped with strawberry shortcake crumble.
