POLAND – Sokolow Group has announced intentions to acquire Gzella Meat Group, a meat producer in Poland with the aim to strengthen the market position not only in Poland but also internationally.

The transaction, whose approval awaits a go ahead from Polish competition authorities, involves formation of a merger between the companies and their brands and will be operational once the two concurs on a conditional investment agreement.

With a mission of providing customers and consumers with value and quality, Sokolow provides them with products in premium quality to meet their expectations.

Development of a diverse product portfolio puts the company in a position to comply with the changes in consumer tastes and preferences.

As part of the agreement, Sokolow will utilize Gzella Meat Group’s distribution channels, offering Sokolow products to customers and consumers loyal to Gzella.

Also, Gzella products will take full advantage of Sokolow’s rich distribution network, consisting of 39 distribution centers and 51 Sokolow stores.

According to Boguslaw Miszczuk, the President of the Management Board of Sokolow S.A., acquisition of was quite a good step in conforming to the changing trend and meeting their general objectives.

The acquisition also intends to give Sokolow Group a leeway for potential growth in the Poland and international markets.

Gzella will provide its expertise in innovative production technologies as well as improve on Sokolow Group’s production capacity.

It will also benefit from Gzella Meat’s logistics facilities and a network of about 250 stores operating under the ‘Delikatesy Mięsne Gzella’ brand in northern and central Poland.
