FRANCE – Solina, a French-based global supplier of culinary and functional solutions, has bolstered its position in the French market with the acquisition of Sauces et Créations and Atelier D2i.

The two companies are experts in producing savory and sweet made-to-measure sauces and reported to have a collective turnover of around €28 million (US$31 million).

Both companies are experiencing rapid growth in the made-to-measure sauces segment with cheese sauce, salad dressings, marinades, vinaigrettes, mayonnaise, Asian sauces, fruit preparations and caramel, among others.

The acquisition of Sauces et Créations and Atelier D2i represents a new stage in Solina’s development strategy after acquiring US-based Asenzya and Food Compound (Netherlands) in the last quarter of 2021.

“With the acquisition of Sauces et Créations and Atelier D2i, we are reinforcing our made-to-measure sauces segment for the restaurant industry and the agri-food industry,” says Anthony Francheterre, CEO, Solina Group.

Sauces et Créations and Atelier D2i have both made considerable investments in cooking and packaging capacities.

This allows the companies to have market flexibility and provide a variety of products, in different formats, to a diverse network of customers.

“Our companies share the same culture, putting the client at the center of our business model to provide them with solutions that are ever more appropriate to their needs. And this allows us to suggest new products to our respective clients,” explains Francheterre.

Sauces et Créations and Atelier D2i are  also recognized for their quick responsiveness and problem-solving abilities.

The companies also have quality certification standards, including International Featured Standards, British Retail Consortium and BIO certification.

The certifications give them capacity to work with rapidly growing players on the restaurant scene, such as salad and ready-meal producers, virtual restaurants, the fast-food sector or providers of meals in a box.

“We decided to affiliate our companies with Solina to take them to the next level. We are convinced that Solina is the ideal partner to continue to grow Sauces et Créations and Atelier D2i, especially in Europe,” says Daniel Dessaint, founder, Sauces et Créations.

Earlier, American manufacturer of sauces and condiments Kraft Heinz strengthened its presence in Latin America with the acquisition of a majority stake in Companhia Hemmer Indústria e Comércio (Hemmer).

Hemmer is a 107-year-old Brazilian food company focused on condiments and sauces. The company based in Blumenau, Santa Catarina, Brazil reported net sales of approximately US$26 billion in 2021.
