SOUTH AFRICA – Anheuser-Busch InBev’s South African Breweries (SAB), subsidiary of has appointed Zoleka Lisa as its vice president corporate affairs for South Africa,
SAB said Lisa, who assumed office on 01 July 2019, will lead the organisation’s public policy, transformation, entrepreneurship and sustainability strategy.
In her new role, she will also represent the company on various boards including, SAB Foundation, AWARE.org and Beer Association for SA.
She holds a BSc. in Environmental Science and Economics from the University of Cape Town and an Honours degree from the University of the Witwatersrand.

She has also attended a range of executive development courses from Wits Business School and the London School of Economics.
Lisa has spent nine years as a senior manager at Accenture, a global professional services company that provides services in strategy, consulting, digital and technology.
She first joined SAB in 2014, where she was appointed as regional strategic programmes manager for Africa and has worked across the business over the past five years.
Lisa said that she is looking forward to drive collaborations that will continue to elevate the SAB Corporate Affairs agenda, ensuring the company’s initiatives are always impactful and relevant to the communities in which it operates.
She leads a team of passionate change agents that are stepping up the organisation’s corporate reputation and ultimately, contributing to the African growth ambitions.
SAB invests on IoT for cold beer storage
The company is also piloting an Internet of Thing (IoT) system that captures data about the temperatures and locations of beer coolers around the country.
The technology will help the company to confirm that the beer coolers are in use as well as monitor their condition by enhancing cooler visibility.
SAB also seeks to use the technology in managing it high end coolers, which come with double display glass doors and designed to keep the product at optimal temperatures of between -2 and +4 degrees Celsius.
The company began working on the project this year with CIRT, South African tech start up launched last year by Digibiz and strategic consulting firm Black Lite Group to create the solution, known as the Fridgeloc Connected Cooler.
The company developed a system by which the sensors capture temperature data and forward it over a cellular-based IoT connection via Thingstream’s IoT connectivity.
