South Africa’s retailer Checkers partners Mr D Food for home liquor deliveries

SOUTH AFRICA – Checkers, a supermarket chain owned by Shoprite has entered an exclusive partnership with Mr D Food for delivery of alcohol to customers’ homes, reports IOL Business.

By the end of the year, customers will be able to order their beer or wine at in-store prices from Mr D Food app which will be delivered from 60 Checkers LiquorShops across the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.

The retailer plans to roll out additional stores in the year 2019.

Top liquor brands including beer, wine and spirits and non-alcoholic beverages like soft drinks, juice and water will be available on the app once the service comes into operational.

Checkers LiquorShop said customers can access the service within the retailers working hours.

Over 1 million South Africans have already downloaded the Mr D Food app and the delivery service is offering free delivery on the first alcohol order on the app.

To order for your favorite drink, one has to download the Mr D Food app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, pick your delivery location, navigate to a Checkers LiquorShop and place your order, pay with cash on delivery or securely by card or EFT in the app.
