US – Spirit of Gallo has assumed the US distribution rights for Tequila Komos through a strategic investment in Casa Komos Brands Group (CKBG), at a time when tequila sales continue to outpace all other traditional spirit categories.

Through the distribution that was implemented immediately, the spirit of Gallo has expanded its tequila offering into the ultra-Luxury Tequila category.

Komos is a luxury spirit that is said to be born from the vision to honor all of life’s moments and designed to redefine the category through innovation and inclusivity by expanding the reach of Ultra-Luxury Tequila to more occasions and more people.

The highest-rated tequila portfolio was conceptualized and founded by former Master Sommelier and industry visionary Richard Betts and entrepreneur Joe Marchese.

Globally inspired, Komos combines the highest artistry in tequila-making with inspiration from Betts’ wine-making background; crafting a tequila where the occasion informs the production.

This commitment to delivering a high-quality, robust flavor experience from an Ultra-Luxury Tequila has earned the Komos trilogy some of the highest accolades.

The US-based brand on the rise said the most outstanding thing about the acquired tequila portfolio is its handmade ceramic bottle that recalls Mediterranean traditions in a sleek and premium expression and is designed to be easily upcycled.

Since the Tequila category grew by 17% with 81% of the growth coming from the Premium+ category in 2021, Britt West, Sr. Vice President and General Manager for Spirit of Gallo said the acquisition bolsters the company’s portfolio and unlocks significant potential for partners in this flourishing market.

According to Vintage Market Research, the global Tequila Market valued at US$ 9.7 Billion in 2021 will continue to grow and surpass US$13.5 Billion by 2028, exhibiting a CAGR of 5.70% during the forecast period 2022-2028.

The Tequila Komos offering comprised of Añejo Cristalino, Reposado Rosa, and Extra Añejo , which offered a refined competition to Spirit of Gallo’s portfolios in North America, the market that captured the lion’s share in 2021.

West added: “Through refined artistry, innovation, and commitment to quality, Komos is best-in-class in its category, allowing Spirit of Gallo to build on the momentum of consumer demand and propel the brand, along with the Ultra-Luxury Tequila segment, into uncharted territory across the globe.”

Komos is currently distributed throughout the US, Mexico, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, and is the flagship brand of parent company CKBG.
