U.S – The Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI), a division of FMI – The Food Industry Association, has unveiled the finalists for the prestigious SQF Excellence Awards.
With the prestigious ceremony set to take place at SQF Unites in New Orleans, the spotlight shines on six exceptional individuals who have demonstrated unparalleled dedication to ensuring food safety and quality in the industry.
While SQFI is most known for its globally benchmarked food safety and quality program, the SQFI team does much more than write and maintain this standard. SQFI – Safe Quality Food Institute, a division of FMI, The Food Industry Association, hosts the Safe Quality Food (SQF) program. FMI administers the SQF program, a leading, global food safety and quality certification and management system.
In the “Excellence in SQF Auditing” category, three standout finalists have been recognized for their exceptional contributions to the SQF program.
Bradley Rush, a seasoned lead auditor whose commitment to excellence knows no bounds; Stacey Brown, a cGMP & SQF food safety auditor whose attention to detail sets the standard; and Tadashi Mizuta, a lead auditor whose expertise has been instrumental in upholding the highest standards of food safety at SGS Japan Inc.
Meanwhile, in the category “Excellence in SQF Practitioner Leadership”, the spotlight falls on Samantha Shinbaum, whose role as Associate Director of Regulatory Policy and Compliance at Tyson Foods, Inc., has been characterized by an unwavering dedication to fostering a culture of food safety.
Robert Clark, Quality Manager at Vital Farms, whose leadership has been pivotal in driving continuous improvement in food safety practices and Hugo Lopez, Quality Assurance Manager at Heritage Coffee Co. Ltd., whose commitment to excellence has set a benchmark for the industry have also joined the list.
The winners of the SQF Excellence Awards will be revealed during the much-anticipated SQF Unites event on March 12. This momentous occasion will also serve as a platform to celebrate the recipients of the FMI Foundation Food Safety Auditing Scholarships, highlighting the next generation of leaders in food safety and quality assurance.
