ISRAEL – Israel-based Steakholder Foods has received a second payment of US$270,000 from the Singapore-Israel Industrial R&D Foundation (SIIRD), increasing its total funding to US$490,000.
The grant, part of a US$1 million funding package, is aimed at supporting the company’s development initiatives.
The alternative protein company also announced the signing of six Letters of Intent (LOIs) with international firms following its participation in the Plant-Based World Expo in London, United Kingdom.
These agreements are expected to facilitate the sale of Steakholder Foods’ advanced 3D food printing systems and proprietary plant-based premix blends.
At the Plant-Based World Expo, Europe’s largest trade fair dedicated to plant-based foods, Steakholder Foods received significant recognition for its product offerings.
The company won three awards, including a Gold Award for its Salmon Patty, a Silver Award for its Fish Kebab, and a Bronze Award for its Beef Alternative.
During the event, over 2,000 tasting samples were distributed to visitors at its booth, attracting considerable attention from industry representatives.
In a statement, Steakholder Foods CEO Arik Kaufman highlighted the importance of the recent agreements.
“These LOIs mark a step forward in our commercialization efforts and demonstrate the appeal of our technology to global markets. We are focused on providing scalable, sustainable food solutions and creating value for our stakeholders.”
Founded in 2019, Steakholder Foods specializes in manufacturing 3D food printing systems and developing proprietary premix blends for alternative proteins.
The company’s tools enable food manufacturers to produce plant-based alternatives to meat and seafood that match consumer expectations in taste, texture, and appearance.
The six LOIs involve companies from diverse international markets and align with Steakholder Foods’ strategy to expand its footprint in the alternative protein industry.
