UK– CONSUS, a crop research and development partnership between University College Dublin (UCD) and Origin Enterprise, has added Iteris ClearAg environmental intelligence to its crop modeling platform.
CONSUS is a €17.6 million five-year dedicated digital, precision agriculture and crop science collaborative research partnership between UCD and Origin and is also supported by Science Foundation Ireland.
The programme encompasses a strong multi and interdisciplinary approach, combining the leading expertise of UCD in data science and agricultural science with Origin’s integrated crop management research, systems capabilities and extensive on-farm knowledge exchange networks.
Developed by Iteris – a global leader in applied informatics for transportation and agriculture – ClearAg is a solution designed to provide applied meteorological expertise, state-of-the-science agronomic modeling, adaptive data processing and location-specific descriptive and predictive insights to customers across the globe.
Under the terms of the agreement, ClearAg will provide location-specific environmental intelligence to CONSUS to contribute to the creation of crop models to optimize sustainable crop performance for agronomists and growers in the U.K. and globally.

“ClearAg’s location-specific current and historical weather data, as well as its climatology and soil conditions information, will enable CONSUS to develop scalable, dynamic and integrated crop models to optimize sustainable crop performance.”

In August last year, ClearAg also announced a partnership with KWS, one of the world’s leading plant breeding companies, to support research and development, Crop Modelling and Digital Farming.
The partnership saw KWS integrate ClearAg’s environmental intelligence into its digital farming platform, CultiVent, which is used by agronomists and growers across more than 70 countries in Europe and Asia.
While this was one of the platform’s latest partnership, ClearAg has also formed collaborations with RiceTec FluroSat and Dacom Farm Intelligence.
