BRAZIL – Symrise Brazil has been certified internationally as B Corporation, becoming the first producer of Food & Beverage as well as Scent & Care to do so.
The certification was achieved through a project named “Path +B” which aims at sustainable development with solutions to social and environmental problems in addition to profit.
“We feel very glad about the recognition as the producer of Scent & Care as well as Taste, Nutrition and Health in Brazil to become a B Corporation,” explains Ricardo Patrocínio, Sr Vice President Consumer Fragrance LATAM and Brazil B-Corp project sponsor.
“Becoming part of a global community of companies that meet high standards of social and environmental impact forms a great achievement. It attests to our efforts and commitments on the different sides audited by B system.”
The company underwent a thorough evaluation in the categories: Environment, People, Community, Workers, and Governance in which it had to fulfill a specific score.
The results of the certification highlight the efforts made by the organization through a robust execution of sustainability strategy.
Every three years, it has to prove that its sustainability practices and policies are still aligned with the project and that they are evolving positively.
The International B Corp certification highlights companies that include social and environmental goals in their activities and business model and helps them move forward.
The certification analyzes five impact areas: governance, employees, community, environment, and customers. The principle of interdependence aims to improve both the company and its entire ecosystem (partners, suppliers, customers).
Currently, more than 6,900 B companies worldwide exist – with 1065 in Latin America and 303 in Brazil.
Meanwhile, Symrise Pet Food is rebranding its pet nutrition ingredients brand Nutrios into Nuvin to reflect strategy to accelerate toward driving more growth, vitality, and sustainability in the pet food sector.
The transition includes plans to expand growth and advance sustainability for the complete offering of egg, chicken, hydrolyzed proteins, and health solutions.
With this step, the company intends to strategically strengthen its pet food offering for its customers while moving to achieve key aspects of its longer-term strategy.
The new brand inherits a thriving portfolio in natural pet nutrition: value-added egg in the form of Ovalin™ nutritional products and OvaBind™ binding and emulsification ingredients for functional applications.
Pepti’One hydrolysates come from a range of select, single-source animal proteins. Premium-quality chicken protein, broth, and fat for dry and wet formulations also add to the portfolio as well as health solutions.
This means that despite the brand refresh, Symrise Pet Food continues to supply its customers with the fundamental ingredients and collaborative services essential to premium formulations.
