Symrise AG appoints Dr Jean-Yves Parisot to succeed Dr Heinz-Jürgen Bertram as CEO

GERMANY – Symrise AG, a leading global player in the flavorings and fragrances industry, has undergone leadership transition as Dr Heinz-Jürgen Bertram, the current CEO, steps down from his role after 15 successful years.

To succeed Dr Heinz, the company’s Supervisory Board has appointed Dr Jean-Yves Parisot, a seasoned executive within Symrise, to take over as the new CEO, effective March 31, 2024.

Dr Heinz-Jürgen Bertram’s retirement marks the end of an era, concluding his remarkable 21-year tenure at Symrise, where he spent 19 years as a Member of the Executive Committee and an impressive 15 years at the helm as CEO.

During his leadership, Symrise achieved global recognition and became a prominent member of the DAX-40 index.

Under Bertram’s guidance, the company experienced consistent organic growth, fortified its product portfolio, and strategically positioned itself for future challenges through targeted acquisitions.

Michael König, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Symrise AG, expressed deep gratitude for Dr Bertram’s decisive contributions to the company’s success.

Bertram’s role in steering Symrise to its current industry leadership position has been pivotal.

Dr Jean-Yves Parisot, the incoming CEO, is no stranger to Symrise, having joined the company in 2014. As a Member of the Executive Committee since 2016, Dr Parisot has been instrumental in overseeing the Taste, Nutrition & Health segment.

His international executive experience includes leadership roles at Pfizer, Rhone Poulenc/Rhodia, Danisco, Air Liquide, and the Diana Group before its merger with Symrise.

The Supervisory Board has shown confidence in Dr Parisot’s abilities by extending his contract for an additional four years until the end of September 2028.

Dr Parisot expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and conveyed enthusiasm for leading Symrise into the next chapter of its success story.

The incoming CEO emphasized the strong foundation of Symrise and highlighted the company’s strategic focus on setting the right course for profitable growth.
