RUSSIA – The Dutch flavors and fragrances company, Symrise has launched a new production line for liquid flavorings at its Rogovo facility in Russia, expanding dry taste solutions range.

The expansion allows the company to serve its customers in Russia with taste solutions with applications in sweet and dairy products as well as beverages.

The new range further supplements the range of dry taste solutions for snacks and ready meals.

The site expansion involved an improved production line which will produce liquid flavorings for customers in the consumer goods industry including sweets, dairy products and beverages.

The plant will produce around 1,800 tons of flavorings per year, in containers ranging from 100 kilograms to 4,000 kilograms.

Symrise has also invested in optimizing its processes capable of preventing cross-contamination and guaranteeing high purity in the final taste solution.

“This investment clearly demonstrates our commitment to the region and the country,” said Stephan Schulte, Managing Director of Symrise Rogovo.

“We strongly believe in the positive development of the Russian economy.

“Our company got involved in the growing market early on and has successfully developed its business in Russia.

“Local customers have already had positive experiences with dry taste solutions from Symrise.”

Symrise which opened its first representative office in Russia in 1995, operates an application lab in Moscow and in 2011 started local production.

The company has unveiled its 2025 strategy targeting health and naturalness with plans to make strategic acquisitions that will boost its sales to between US$6.24 billion and US$6.81 billion.

According to Symrise, it has doubled its sales to US$3.4 billion from 2008 to 2017.

To support this ambition, it has opened R&D facility in Canada and sweet goods and dairy laboratory in the US to drive innovation.

In May, Symrise joined forces with Califormulations, LLC to create a unique platform that will foster beverage innovation.
