German retailer Aldi to invest US$1.8B to expand presence in Britain

Aldi invests US$30.8935m to its regional distribution centre in West Lothian.

SCOTLAND – Supermarket chain Aldi is set to invest US$30.8935 million in a bid to expand its Bathgate distribution centre located in West Lothian after receiving the approval from West Lothian Council. Aldi plans to boost its distribution capacity with 196,000 square feet storage and chill facility, creating more than 200 new jobs at the centre, where 470 staff is already based. Aldi to remove single-use plastic bags, unveils plastics plan

UK – Aldi, the UK supermarket chain has pledged to remove single use US$0.062 plastic bags and use US$0.11 reusable bags made from plastic waste by the end of the year.
