Djibouti partners with Ethiopia in opening livestock exclusive terminal at Doraleh Multipurpose Port

DJIBOUTI – Djibouti in partnership with Ethiopia have inaugurated a livestock terminal at the Doraleh Multi-Purpose Port, an extension of the Port of Djibouti. The exclusive facility will have a capacity to handle 2.5 million heads of animal per annum i.e., 1,000 heads of camel, 500 heads of cattle and 4,270 heads of goat or sheep per day, reports Capital Ethiopia. AfDB approves US$1.5m emergency grant to curb desert locusts in Eastern Africa

EASTERN AFRICA – The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank have approved a US$1.5 million emergency relief grant to assist nine countries in the East and Horn of Africa on the control of swarms of desert locusts that are threatening livelihoods and food security.
